Fort of the Espigón: Built before San Cristóbal, likely between 1600 and 1630, to prevent landings on the beach it protected. Also known as Taxamar because it extended into the sea. The construction of San Cristóbal left the Espigón isolated and outside the castle. Its shape is triangular, with a sentry box at its tip. This isolated location was said to be where guards would vanish during the night, giving rise to the legend of the Garita del Diablo (The Devil's Sentry Box).
